Learning and engagement curator, Dr Sarah Deters, on an exploration of the musical instruments from China on display at St Cecilia’s Hall, The University of Edinburgh’s musical instrument museum.
The University of Edinburgh has been collecting musical instruments since 1845, started by founder Professor John Donaldson who collected 200 musical instruments during his time with the University. Donaldson had an interest in Chinese music and culture and collected 31 instruments from China during that time.
