Digital Volunteering with Wikipedia 23/24
Video presentations by students who undertook Wikipedia editing as part of The Edinburgh Award. The Edinburgh Award is a programme that students can undertake alongside a particular activity and aims to recognise student involvement in these activities and enhance these experiences.
The University of Edinburgh has a new Award for “Digital Volunteering with Wikipedia” to sit beside other available Edinburgh Awards– the Edinburgh Award is a 55-80 hour programme that allows students to get official recognition for their involvement in extracurricular activities and demonstrate their digital capabilities to employers.
Students can undertake Wikipedia editing as part of The Edinburgh Award and receive accreditation for developing important digital research skills and applying these to improving the knowledge freely available online.
