The Making of the US President

These excerpts from ‘The Making of the US President’ are a great resource for all those interested in getting a deeper understanding of US politics.
Featuring Professor Frank Cogliano of the School of History, Classics, and Archaeology at the University of Edinburgh, this series of videos provides an introduction to the main parties and individuals involved in the election of 1796 and the election of 1800.
The goal of the course is to provide an historical background to the events of recent elections by examining how US politics has changed over time, and includes interviews focusing on academic analysis of the 2008 election.
These excerpts have been openly licensed from a wider MOOC course of the same name, which analysis five elections: 1800, 1860, 1968, and 1980.
