This session explored the realities of living with a blood-borne virus (BBV) in prison settings, focusing on facilities within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. Speakers discussed the challenges of delivering support to incarcerated individuals, the transitions they face when entering and leaving prison, and the historical and future factors shaping their experiences.
The presentation also highlighted the interventions Waverley Care has implemented in recent years and their plans for the future. Additionally, the session featured valuable insights from staff leading BBV-related work in police custody settings within NHS Lothian.
