Digital Degrowth in Primary Education and Visions for the Near Future

Created by Christine Adenaike as part of the Digital Futures course for the MSc in Digital Education, ‘Digital Degrowth in Primary Education and Visions for the Near Future’ aims to provide a view of how the concept of ‘digital degrowth‘, proposed by Neil Selwyn, can be applied as a sustainable and equitable way forward when considering the future of EdTech in primary education today.
This OER was completed as part of the Digital Futures for Learning course on the MSc in Digital Education at the University of Edinburgh. The Digital Futures for Learning course explored the themes of Interfaces, Visibility and Sustainability in digital technology and the future of learning. This OER focuses on the theme of Sustainability. This three-hour course is aimed at primarily aimed at education professionals and Masters-level students working in fields including digital education, learning technology, digital futures, and e-learning.
Each section contains readings and multimedia content, with reflective activities to work through and explore degrowth.
