Life in the UK as a migrant

title card from video

A quiz and panel discussion around the Life in the UK test, recorded October 25th 2021, hosted by Edinburgh Race Equality Network and Staff Pride Network.

About this event

What year did the Vikings first attack Britain? How many ski centres are there in Scotland?

Join us as we quiz you with some of the more bizarre questions from the Life in the UK test, which you have to take as part of your application for British citizenship or settlement in the UK. We will first look at the absurdities of the test, and then go on to interrogate real-life experiences of the settlement process and issues surrounding migrant rights. Led by colleagues from the University of Edinburgh who have gone through the process, with a chance for a Q&A and discussion.

This is a joint event co-hosted by Edinburgh Race Equality Network and Staff Pride Network. Speakers include Vivek Santayana, Cigdem Selli Karakaya, Lauren Tormey and Maryam Aldossari.
