This session focused on the impact of painful sexual and reproductive health (SRH) procedures. In the session Carrie shared findings from one of her current projects, the Gender Pain Gap study (part of the OU Open Societal Challenges programme) and reflected on the implications of her research for policy, practice, and future SRH provision.
Speaker
Dr Carrie Purcell is a Research Fellow in the Faculty of Wellbeing, Education and Language Studies at the Open University in Scotland. With a background in medical sociology and qualitative research methods, Carrie’s work explores sexual and reproductive health (SRH), stigma, pain, self-management, reproductive justice, and access to healthcare.
