Visibility and Trust in Digital Learning Futures
Created by Chris Wallace as part of the Digital Futures course for the MSc in Digital Education, ‘Visibility and Trust in Digital Learning Futures’ is for postgraduate students of education and professional educators who are interested in the future trajectories of education, specifically with regard to technologies and the use of big data.
The aim of this resource is to outline and explore issues related to visibility, privacy and trust in digital learning spaces. The resource is not intended to resolve these issues, but instead to stimulate you, as an educator, to consider these issues as part of your teaching and learning design.
The resource includes:
- An introduction, where you are invited to consider an initial question related to the section focus.
- A fictional story from the future, which explores and exemplifies the key concepts of the section.
- A discussion of key concepts related to the section focus.
In Sections 2 and 3, you are invited to read a journal article which offers another perspective on the key concepts of the section.
Some concluding questions, which you are invited to think about and, if you want, post your ideas for other users of this resource to see.
There is a final conclusion, which summarises the content of this resource, and a reference list and links.
